If General Dannatt becomes a Lord, won’t he be a WARLORD just like our enemies in Afghanistan?

Methinks the British public should remember all the nasty military dictatorships all over the world, and be very wary indeed of Army Officers who want to “advise” governments. For example Germany was one “civilised” country where Army types exercised power from 1870 to 1945. And look where THAT led us. And in the USA, today, the military power lobby exercises huge leverage behind the scenes.
Cameron should watch his back.

I think you have got your terminology confused. He is not and will not be a warlord. He will be in an advisory capacity only.
