Psycho Movie

What would you call the style of architecture of the house from the movie ” psycho”?

I want to find some plans for a modern house based on that one. I know it sounds weird, but I always liked that house.

Alfred Hitchcock talks of this in his inimitable way in the classic 1962 interview with the French director Francois Tuffaut:
“They’re either called ‘California Gothic’ or, when they’re particularly awful, they’re called ‘California gingerbread’.”

The house was also inspired by the picture of ” House by the Railroad” (1925) by Edward Hopper. It resides at the Museum of Modern Art in New York (MOMA) and can be seen here:
